Our main aim is to establish services that use best international animal welfare practices while ensuring public health and safety through providing services related to Animal Impoundment and Stray Cat and Dog Population Management to the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) and its Affiliated Entities.

Scope of service

Stray Cat and Dog Population Management encompasses a strategic approach to manage the population of stray cats and dogs, which includes scheduled services for humane trapping, veterinary treatment, and sterilization. Animal Impoundment deals with safe and humane trapping, capturing, restraining, and transporting of abandoned, lost, and stray animals in open public areas, which includes unscheduled or on-call services.

In addition, IRSHAD will work with relevant stakeholders to facilitate the return of the animals to their owners or placed for auction or adoption or rehabilitation.

Animal Impound Facility involves establishing a facility for companion animals, farm animals, and native wildlife animals to be held temporarily until owners are located or sold at auction or rehabilitated or found a suitable home.
